Sharing Calendars

This feature is available only to superadmin accounts.

You may wish to share a calendar between communities. For example, a calendar created by admin staff in the Office Community may need to be shared with the Whole School Community as well as the Website Community.

To do this, visit the calendar you wish to share. You will need to copy part of the web address for this community.

In the address bar, copy the rest of the address part after .com. You should see that this part ends with the word 'calendar':

Now visit the calendar you will like to share to. Click on the cogs, enter the copied address into the text entry box and click on 'Add Calendar':

The calendar has now been shared with another community:

If you wish to change the colour of events from this calendar, click on the colour next to the calendar's name. The colour can be amended by dragging the slider up and down and fine-tuned by dragging the circle on the left. Click on the coloured circle at the bottom right for your changes to take effect:

To unshare the added calendar, click on the rubbish bin, and to deactivate it click on the green circle on the right:

Setting Intervals

Interval times have been set for weekdays and weekends. For example, in the weekday view the afternoon session default is from 1pm to 3:30pm.

If the pre-set intervals do not correspond to your school's timetable, they can be amended in this section.

The superadmin user can set the intervals for all calendars. This is done by clicking on the text 'Switch to managing the global intervals for DB Primary' as shown below:

Any teacher can set intervals for other individual calendars on user accounts or in communities.

The image below shows the interval edit screen for weekdays. To amend weekend intervals click on 'Weekend Intervals'.

To set an interval, click in the white area on the right where you will be prompted to give your interval a title:

You can now fine tune the timings of your intervals by dragging at the upper or lower edge of the shaded panel:

Click on save when you are happy with your edit. The new interval will now be reflected in the calendar:

Calendars from other applications such as Outlook can be imported into DB Primary by clicking on the Import button and browsing for them:

The file you wish to import should be in a .csv format.

Once uploaded the following dialogue box will appear.

From the dropdown menu match the columns to the areas within DB Primary.
