Linking Schools
If you are working with another school who is also using DB Primary it is now possible to link your schools together to enable you to share communities. For example school1 will be able to link people from school2 into one of their communities.
School linking needs to be requested by one school and then approved by the other. Instructions on how to do this are below.

Requesting to link to another school
- Log into your school using the superadmin login
- Click on Administration front he homepage
- Click on the School tab
If you are already linked to any schools, you will see them displayed along with a button to Manage Links otherwise you will see a Create Link button.
- Click Create Link
- Enter the name of the school you wish to search for and click search
- If you find more than one school with the same name, hover over the school with your mouse and you will see the path to the school including the Local Authority
Your school linking status will now be invited until the other school accepts your request.
- Click on Save Changes to save your changes.
Accepting a link from another school
If a school has invited you to be a partner the request has to be aproved by the superadmin. Follow the instructions below to do this.
- Log into your school using the superadmin login
- Click on Administration front he homepage
- Click on the School tab
If you are already linked to any schools, you will see them displayed along with a button to Manage Links otherwise you will see a Create Link button.
- You should now see a message advising that you have a link request from another school.
- Click on Manage Links to see the request
- To the right of the word accept in greed, either click on the Green Tick or the Red Cross to accept or decline the link. The red cross in the top right will close the dialogue without you making the decision to accept or decline.
If you choose to Accept then you will be able to add people from the linked school into your communities.
Adding people from a linked school to your community
Once you have linked to another school you may then add users from that school into your own communities which will enable them to interact together.
See below on how to do this.
- Log in and create or navigate to the community in question.
- Click onto the admin cogs and select Membership Management
- You will now have an option to show accounts from a different school
- Click the dropdown to display a list of available linked schools
- You can now add accounts from the linked school into your own school as you would with your own accounts.
