How to report inappropriate content
If a user finds some content they do not think is appropriate, they can report it quickly and easily by clicking on the "Whistle" which can be found at the top of the screen. This will alert nominated members of staff to the content.
When the user clicks the whistle, the address of the content is automatically sent to the nominated teacher and also the user is able to add their own message explaining why they think the content is inappropriate.
All users will have this ability including Parents.
1. Click on the whistle at the top of the page.
2. A dialogue box will appear which will allow for an explanation to be entered. It will also say who will receive the report
3. Click on Tell Them
An email with the address of the content and a message from the reporter will now be sent to the nominated "Whistle Monitor(s)"
Nominating staff to be a Whistle Monitor
Whistle monitors are members of staff nominated to receive the email when inappropriate content is reported. You can nominate a member of staff as follows.

2. Click on Administration from your homepage.
3. Ensure that the Accounts tab is selected.
4. Expand the Staff Accounts folder by clicking on the +
5. Click on The edit pencil to the right of the member of staff you want to make Whistle Monitor.
6. Tick the Whistle Monitor button in the Account Details section
7. Click on Save Changes
This member of staff will now be a Whistle Monitor and receive all future alerts.
Find out who are whistle monitors
From the account admin screen (see above), any staff who are whistle monitors will show a whistle icon. You can also check to see who is a whistle monitor by looking in the community members section (See below).
Rules for determining who will receive notifications
If you have multiple Whistle Monitors, you can use the below rules to identify who will receive notifications:
1. The superadmin user is always sent a copy of all notifications.
2. Aside from the superadmin, if there is only one user in the school marked as a Whistle Monitor, then they are sent the complaint email.
3. If there is more that one Whistle Monitor:
-If the whistle is clicked in a community then it is the leaders of that community which are checked for the Whistle Monitor flag. If the whistle icon is clicked somewhere else within the platform, the notification will be sent to the leader of the default community of the pupil making the complaint.
-The email is sent to each of the leaders with the Whistle Monitor flag. If no monitors are set within the community, then it is sent to the first monitor in the school.
What the Whistle Monitor receives
An email will be received from the reporter with a subject stating that a complaint has been made about some content on the platform. A copy of the email will also be sent to the person who reported the content.
When opened, the email will show the person who reported it, the date and time of reporting, the URL to the content in question and also the message fromt he reporter.
